Curriculum Development

Curriculum Development

K–12 Nutrition Curriculum Development

Healthy Habits Santa Cruz is developing a comprehensive, age-progressive nutrition education curriculum designed for K–12 classrooms, after-school programs, and community organizations.

The curriculum is rooted in functional nutrition and focuses on building lifelong habits—supporting physical health, emotional well-being, and a positive relationship with food. Lessons are designed to be turnkey for educators, flexible across grade levels, and adaptable to real classroom schedules.

The curriculum will include:

  • Age-appropriate lesson plans tailored to each grade band

  • Educator guides to support implementation and classroom integration

  • Printable student handouts and interactive learning activities

  • Take-home materials designed to engage families and caregivers

  • Flexible modules that can be used as stand-alone lessons or part of a larger program

Each component is intentionally structured to support both teaching ease and meaningful learning—meeting students where they are while reinforcing consistent health messages at school and at home.

We are currently in the curriculum development and pilot phase and are actively seeking school partners, educators, and community organizations interested in collaboration, pilot programs, and future licensing opportunities.

Nutrition Talks

Nutrition Talks

A woman is speaking to a group of business professionals seated in an office or conference room. The woman has brown hair tied in a bun and is wearing a sleeveless black blouse. The audience appears attentive, with one man holding a notebook and all dressed in formal attire.

Nutrition & Motivational Talks for Large & Small Groups

Our engaging and inspiring talks are designed for small to large groups—parents, educators, teams, or communities—who want to deepen their understanding of how nutrition and mindset impact overall health and well-being. These events blend practical knowledge with motivational insights, leaving audiences not only informed but also energized to make positive changes.

Topics include balanced meal planning, addressing picky eating, managing food allergies, understanding the gut-brain connection, cultivating body positivity, and exploring how food choices influence mood, energy, and cognitive function. We also dive into themes of mental health, resilience, and self-acceptance, helping audiences build a healthier relationship with food and themselves.

The goal of each talk is to empower participants with tools, confidence, and lasting motivation to make nourishing choices—whether in their personal lives, their families, or the communities they serve.

One-on-One Nutrition Counseling for Kids, Families, and Individuals

Our personalized nutrition counseling services are available to children, families, and individuals looking to improve their overall health through sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes. Whether you’re navigating food sensitivities, digestive issues, energy imbalances, weight concerns, or simply looking to build a healthier relationship with food, we provide tailored support to help assist you in reaching your wellness goals.

We take a functional approach, considering not just food but also lifestyle, stress, and daily habits to create practical, lasting solutions. Sessions are customized to your unique needs—whether you’re a parent wanting better nutrition for your family, a busy professional struggling with meal planning, or an individual looking to optimize your health and longevity.

    1. Start with a FREE 20-Minute Discovery Call We’ll connect for a brief chat where I’ll answer your questions, explain our services, and determine if we’re a good fit for working together on your health journey.

    2. Complete Our Comprehensive Intake Form After our session, I’ll send you our detailed intake form, which you can complete at your own pace. This helps me get to know you better and understand your unique needs.

    3. Health History (Timeline) Session We’ll dive deeper into your (or your child’s) health history during a dedicated, hour-long session. This ensures I have a complete picture of your health journey and current concerns.

    4. Nutrition Counseling Session We’ll discuss your challenges, review our personalized recommendations, and create a clear plan for your next steps during this hour-long session.

Functional Nutrition is not a quick fix—it’s about uncovering the root causes of your symptoms and clearing the "muddy waters." This process takes time and ongoing support, which is why we typically follow up with counseling packages or individual sessions, depending on your needs.

  • Results vary depending on your unique body, lifestyle, and goals. In functional nutrition, we focus on addressing root causes, so some changes—like improved energy, digestion, or mood—can happen within a few weeks, while deeper, long-term shifts may take a few months. This isn’t a “quick fix”. Consistency and collaboration are key.

  • We offer a sliding scale to make our services accessible to everyone. While we don’t currently bill insurance directly, we can provide receipts for you to submit to your provider if needed. More details on costs will be made clear during or immediately after your initial inquiry/call, based on the selection of services.
